Hearts of Oak thump Liberty 3-1 in friendly

Accra, Sep. 23, GNA – Accra Hearts of Oak put finishing touches to their preparations for the upcoming season with a 3-1 win over Liberty Professionals on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Phobians yet to taste defeat in the off-season proved too hot for their regional rivals to handle as they scored six-times in two games after the 3-0 thrashing of newly promoted Amidaus Professionals in mid-week.

Four minutes into the game, James Abban, who joined Hearts of Oak last season from Liberty Professionals broke the deadlock with a close range effort to set the stadium alight.

Liberty Professionals bounced back and succeeded in reducing the deficit through Ernest Addo ten minutes into the second half.

As the game wore on, Hearts restored their lead through Edward Affum before Baah Boateng sealed victory in the closing stages of the game.
