Ghana Telecom annual gala on Saturday

This year's Ghana Telecom annual gala has been scheduled to take place at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday, June 21.

The all Ghatel teams affair, which is the third edition in the history of the competition, is expected to draw eight participating teams from all the eight regions of the country.

Having successfully organized two previous events at Takoradi and Kumasi, the organizers, Ghana telecom are moving this years' event to Cape Coast in order to create awareness about women soccer in the Central Region.

The GNA sports learnt that plans are far advanced for a Ghatel team to be formed in the region after the competition.

Mr. Joseph Ayittey, a member of the organizing committee told the GNA Sports, that a giant trophy, cash and other consolation prizes would be at stake for outstanding players and teams.

The one-day gala would see defending champions, Ghatel Sunyani defending the trophy they won in Kumasi last year, against favourites, Ghatel Ladies of Accra.
