Jets completes double over B.A. Stars

January 12, 2011 Accra, Jan. 12, GNA - Tudu Mighty Jets made it double over B.A. Stars after securing a win over the visitors in their 17th Week Glo Premier League match with a 2-1 victory at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra on Wednesday.

The Tudu lads recorded a similar victory over the Sunyani based club in the first round of the competition.

They, however, had to come from a goal deficit which was scored in the 31st minute through B.A Stars Bala Tigana's individual effort after John Adjetey saw the ball flip through his hands from a cross into the net.

Jets responded to the challenge with an intense attack and fetched the equalizer in the 41st minute when Sam Ato Ghansah capitalized on a lackadaisical approach by the defence men of B.A. Stars in goal mouth melee as a result of their poor judgment to fire into the roof of the net for the equalizer to eventually end the first half.

With both sides probing seriously for the winner but failing due to poor connection upfront, it was talented Aaron Amoah of Jets who separated the two sides with a powerful grounder into the corner of the post to beat veteran James Narnor for the match winner in the 54th minute.

B. A Stars struggled to come on level terms but failed as bulky striker Abubakari Swalla blew of the several chances that came his way.
