Ghana slump continues

...with slide to 61st in world THE surprise is that it can get worse for Ghana's football reputation after an ignominious 0-1 loss for the national side against Uganda, a coach gone AWOL, failure to reach the Champions League proper by Hearts of oak, and a quarter final exit in the African nations cup in Mali. It may seem tough to sink any lower but it is possible, and that is official. The reputation of the Ghanaian game is lower than an adder's abdomen, so we didn't really need FIFA to ram it even further into the dirt yesterday. They did it anyway by publishing the latest world rankings list. Ghana have slipped a further five places down the ladder and we are now perched precariously on rung 61 - the lowest we've ever been. The four times African champion is in danger of becoming one of the world's footballing minnows. Get this. We are placed only one place above Angola in the eyes of the footballing world. We are BELOW Zimbabwe, Trinidad and Tobago, New Zealand, Australia, China and Jamaica. Even Iraq under threat of war, who are 51st, look down on us. While those minnows have caught up with Ghana, others who can only be described as footballing plankton, are now on our tails. Canada is 70th, Burkina Faso is 75th and climbing. Even Jordan moved up nine places to 79th. If they catch us, the ba' really is burst. WHERE WE STAND IN THE WORLD 1 Brazil
