Gyan strikes from the spot

Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan announced his intentions to recapture his goal scoring form after earning a point for Rennes in a 1-1 draw at Nice on Sunday.

 
The 23-year-old converted a penalty kick with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner just on the stroke of half-time.

Nice conceded a penalty after Grégory Paisley handled the ball in the penalty area.

Chaouki Ben Saada put Nice ahead in the 44th minute when he shot from outside the box to the bottom right corner with assist from Onyekachi Apam following a fast break

Gyan is struggling to find his form after his stay at the Route de Lorient was plagued with injuries last term.

 
He was replaced in the 79th minute by Romain Danze.
