Ghana decides today
The Black Stars would be assured of total home support at the Sekondi Sports Stadium when they host the Crocodiles of Lesotho today in the 2010 World Cup qualifier.
The kick off time for Saturday's 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers between Ghana and Lesotho is at 14:30 GMT (2:30pm local time). It would be played at Essipong Stadium in Sekondi
Ghana plays Lesotho, who is yet to pick a point in Group 5. A victory over the Basothos is expected to keep the Black Stars in the hunt for a place in the next qualifying round.
Milovan Rajevac, Black Stars coach, has called for calm and warned his players not to underrate their opponents because of their placing on the Group 5 table.
Ghana would be without Michael Essien and the suspended Laryea Kingston, but the Serbian coach has some options available to select his starting team from.
The Ghana coach wants the Black Stars to play with confidence this time round after the defeat to Libya in the last game.
“They must be very serious because this is a crucial game. This game is deciding whether we are going to the next qualifying round or not, so they (players) are all aware of.
“They all know how important the game is so there will be no problem preparing their minds,” the Serbian manager of the Black Stars said.
With a win expected to send Ghana through to the next round of the qualifying series, the home crowd will be spurring them on.
Despite their poor showing, Ghana's opponents cannot be taken lightly. Lesotho coach, Zavisa Milosavljevic, says his side is determined to beat Ghana.
“It is a big game for us and also for Ghana. We know what to do and we would play for a win. It's always good to score when playing against big side like Ghana. We don't have to fear,” Milosavljevic said in a pre-match interview.
Ghana needs all the three points to go through as group winners or one of the eight best runners up. Libya and Gabon are the other teams in the running.
