Miners keep title race open

AshantiGold keeps the title race still open after a hard fought 1-0 away win over Bofoakwa Tano at the Coronation Park.

The Miners now move to second on the table and are six points adrift leaders, Hearts of Oak who need just a point to clinch the title.

Bofoakwa Tano, who are caught up in the relegation battle have themselves to blame for not managing at least a point as near misses and good goalkeeping by George Owu denied them a goal.

However, the Miners had to wait until the second half before picking the booty from the grounds through a 40-yard drive by Kweku Sarpong.

The home side piled on the pressure for the equaliser but poor finishing up front denied them a goal as the Miners run away with the win and now seem to send the league to the wire with two games to go.
