He’s good, highly appreciated as one of the best in Sweden — Ghana’s Michael Baidoo receives praise from Elfsborg manager after contract extension

IF Elfsborg manager, Stefan Andreasson, has showered praise on Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo following his contract extension with the Swedish club.

Baidoo's impressive performances have earned him recognition as one of the best midfielders in the Allsvenskan league.

The 24-year-old recently signed a contract extension that will keep him at Elfsborg until the summer of 2027.

Baidoo, who joined Elfsborg from Norway in 2022, has become a crucial player for the team, contributing to their title challenge last season.

"Since he came to us for the 2022 season, Michael has developed into one of the Allsvenskan's best midfielders.

“Today we are happy and proud that Michael is enjoying himself so well in Borås and in Elfsborg that he now chooses to extend instead of being attracted by the alternatives that existed," Andreasson expressed.

He further hopes that the contract extension sends positive signals about Elfsborg's ambitions.

"Michael is hugely appreciated in the association, and I hope that this sends the right signals to those around us about our ambitions.

“Now we look forward to starting the 2024 racing season with Michael once again as a key player and person in the team," Andreasson added.

The former Vision FC player has showcased his talent by scoring 14 goals and providing 9 assists in 54 competitive games for Elfsborg.
