Cocaine@Vagina: Ghanaian resident in UK Busted

A lady who concealed cocaine in her vagina in an attempt to smuggle the substance to London was on Friday put before an Accra Regional Tribunal.

Margaret Seck, a Ghanaian resident in the United Kingdom, pleaded not guilty to the charge and the tribunal remanded her in prison custody for two weeks.

The prosecution said two medium-sized oval shaped substances suspected to be cocaine were removed from her vagina. Additionally, 13 thumb-size wrappers of the substance were also removed from her anus.

The prosecution told the tribunal that at about 2130 hours on January 24, Seck arrived at the Kotoka International Airport to board a British Airways flight to London.

The prosecution said while Seck was going through departure formalities, security personnel suspected her of carrying some foreign materials in her stomach.

The accused person was therefore escorted to the 37 Military Hospital where under the supervision of a lady security officer, two medium-sized oval shaped substance suspected to be cocaine were removed from her vagina.

Thirteen thumb-size wrappers of the substance were also removed from her anus.

Upon interrogation, she said one John was the person who asked her to carry the suspected drug to London for a fee of 2,000 pounds. Seck refused to lead the police to arrest John while the substance has been forwarded to the Ghana Standards Board for analytical examination.
