Sports Ministry congratulates Black Meteors for U-23 AFCON qualification

The Youth and Sports Ministry has congratulated the Black Meteors following their qualification for the CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana have secured qualification after beating Algeria 1-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

The Sports Ministry's official Twitter handle praised the team's performance, saying "Congratulations, Black Meteors."

Sporting Lisbon struck in the 12th minute was enough for the side to end the two-legged tie 2-1 on aggregate for the Black Meteors.

Ghana held Algeria in the first leg in Annaba to a 1-1 drawn game.

The U-23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament is set to take place in Morocco later this year.
