Power FC pips All Blacks

Kwabena Yaro's opportunistic 35th minute goal earned Power FC a lone goal victory over visiting Gamba All Blacks in their OneTouch Premier League encounter at the Ho Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The goal came from a goalmouth scramble, which saw the well placed Yaro to provide the vital tap beyond the reach of All Black's goalie, Isaac Akrong.

The Power lads entered the match with much determination to impress the sparse home crowd, who rooted for them amidst drumming and singing and shouts of exasperation anytime they squandered a chance at goal.

The stadium was therefore set alive when the vital goal came.

The game after the goal became a ding-dong affair with both teams pressing for goals, with their forwards narrowly missing their targets.

Power FC started the second half full of determination to improve their goal margin but found a similarly determined Gamba All Blacks coming close to canceling the lead in the 55th and 60th minutes, except for the excellent anticipation and agility of goal keeper Akrofie Joshua in goal for Power FC.

The win however did not improve Power's last position on the league standings.
