Black Stars will represent Ghana and Africa as best as we can – Coach Otto Addo

Ghana head coach, Otto Addo has noted that his players are ready to begin the campaign at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament being staged in Qatar.

During an interaction with Dr. Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), on Wednesday, the coach said his Black Stars are ready to fight to bring glory to Ghana and the entire continent.

"As an African country, we know that it's not only for our nation but for the entire continent. It is for us to represent our continent as best as possible and I can assure you that we will do it,” Coach Otto Addo said as quoted on the GFA website.

The coach further expressed appreciation to the CAF boss for taking the time off his schedule to visit the Ghana camp in Doha.

Coach Otto Addo further added that the visit of Dr. Motsepe has inspired his team ahead of the Group H opener against Portugal on Thursday.

"We don't take it for granted that you came by to visit us. It's a great honour for us to host you even though it is a short visit. This is really inspiring for us, the players and the staff.

"I can assure you that they are working hard on and off the pitch, so I am very sure that we won't disappoint our nation and Africa Ghana has shown in the past that they can compete at the highest level and when I see their training and look at how they played in recent games, I strongly believe that we can do some miracles,” Coach Otto Addo shared.

Ghana takes on Portugal today in a game scheduled to kick off at 16:00GMT.
