Handball championship postponed

Accra, Aug. 2, GNA - The Handball Association of Ghana (HAG) has postponed the Second Franco-West Africa Handball Championship scheduled for this month to October. The postponement was necessitated by the clash in dates with the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, which commences next week. In a statement signed by Mr Saka Acquaye, Secretary General of HAG, the championship, which was in conjunction, with the French Embassy will now take place between October 15 and 18. The statement has therefore ordered the national team currently in camp to break camp on Tuesday, August 3. The statement said the new period of training shall commence on 20th September, 2004.
