2022 World Cup: Black Stars to arrive on Monday ahead of the Nigeria playoff games

The senior national team players will arrive in the country on Monday for the 2022 World Cup playoff games against Nigeria next week.

The Black Stars will take on their rivals, the Super Eagles at the Baba Yara Stadium on March 25 before the return fixture at the Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on March 29.

With the Black Stars squad yet to be named by the technical team, head of Communications of the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Henry Asante Twum has revealed the players are expected to arrive in the country on Monday.

"All the players will arrive in Ghana by Monday," he told Kumasi based Nhyira FM.

"Also, three of our coaches are not in Ghana but we hope they will arrive this Sunday," he added.

The playing body are expected to arrive in Kumasi on Tuesday afternoon where the team will open their first training on Tuesday evening.

The Black Stars are hoping to make amend after a poor 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] campaign in Cameroon.

Having missed out in the last edition in Russia, the four-time African champions are aiming to return to the global showpiece for the fourth time.
