Cameroon set $170 minimum salary cap for top-flight players

The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has set a 100,000 Central Africa CFA franc (about $170/GH¢1,070) base salary for players in the Cameroon top division, the Elite One.

Players in the second-tier, Ligue 2 will have a base salary of 50,000 (about $83/GH¢535).

The decision was arrived at following a meeting between FECAFOOT and stakeholders on Monday, January 24 ahead of the start of the 2021/22 Cameroonian football season.

The Association of Elite Clubs of Cameroon (ACEC), the Association of Women Football Clubs (ANPPCFF), and the National Union of Cameroonian Footballers (SYNAFOC) were represented at the meeting.
