Crystal Palace: Ghanaian youngster Jesurun Rak-Sakyi elated after Premier League debut

Ghanaian youngster, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi says he feels proud after making his Premier League debut over the weekend despite Crystal Palace defeat.

The 18-year-old was a second-half substitute for Palace who were humbled 3-0 by European Champions, Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

“It was a proud moment for me and my family. It was a great opportunity for me; I thank the coaches for helping me to get to this point and I thank the gaffer for trusting me and giving me [the] opportunity to play. Hopefully, more to come," he said.

“I felt it went quite well. I just tried to stay calm, keep the ball and play simple.”

The Blues beat the Eagles 3-0 with all goals scored before the introduction of the Rak-Sakyi - born to Ghanaian parents in the United Kingdom.

Manager Patrick Vieira sought inspiration from his substitutes and he trusted inexperienced Rak-Sakyi to lift the team.

He spent 15 minutes on the pitch and couldn't impact the game due to Chelsea's compactness.
