Kamaldeen Sulemana: Why Stade Rennais has splashed over €15m to sign Ghana whiz kid

Talented Ghana teenage sensation, Kamaldeen Sulemana on Friday, July 16, 2021, sealed his anticipated move to French Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennais.

The pacey winger blessed with mind-blowing dribbling skills earlier this week was on the brink of completing a transfer from Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjaelland to Dutch Champions Ajax Amsterdam.

Not convinced he will be offered regular playing time at the club, Kamaldeen Sulemana and his representatives have opted to move to France instead.

In the early hours of today, the Ghana star arrived in France where he has inked a long-term contract with Stade Rennes after undergoing all the necessary medical checks.

The French club according to sources had to dig deep into their pockets to splash a sum of 15 million Euros for the 19-year-old.

Although it may not be the highest the club has paid for a player, why is Stade Rennais making this signing?

The answer is simple. The Ghana whiz kid is one of a few teenage players destined for greatness in the future as a result of the immense talent he possesses and the kind of performances he has put up in the past year.

At Stade Rennes, the club sees the signing of the talented forward as a necessary investment as the side adds to the abundance of highly-rated players at their disposal including Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga, as well as Belgian-Ghanaian attacker Jeremy Doku.

Kamaldeen Sulemana no doubt is a star in the making. Last season at FC Nordsjaelland, the teenager was a delight to watch as he thrilled fans with his performance.

It was no surprise English Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool considered securing his services.

Making 29 appearances for FC Nordsjaelland throughout that campaign, Kamaldeen Sulemana scored 10 goals and provides four assists in the Danish Superliga.

At just 19 years, Kamaldeen Sulemana has the world at his feet. He can only develop and get better as he goes through the years to come.

From all indications and tracing back to his days at the Right to Dream Academy, there is no doubt he will be a star with hard work and a show of zeal to be the best version of himself.

Although yet to break into the Black Stars team, Kamaldeen Sulemana will no doubt be an asset for his national team.

Last year in September, he was handed his maiden call-up to the Ghana national team when he was only 18 years.

With two caps to his name, the sky can only be his limit as far as his involvement in the Black Stars is concerned.

Should he become a hit at Stade Rennes in the first round of the 2021/2022 football season, Kamaldeen Sulemana will no doubt earn a place in the Ghana team that will play at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Cameroon in January 2022.
