Relegated Schalke 04 set to recall Ghana forward Bernard Tekpetey from Ludogorets loan

German outfit, Schalke 04 is set to recall Ghana attacker Bernard Tekpetey from his loan spell at Ludogorets as they look to strengthen their squad for next season.

The club with a longstanding history in German football endured a difficult spell in the 2020/2021 football season and as a result, has been relegated to the Bundesliga 2.

Keen on making an immediate return to the German Bundesliga, Schalke 04 has set sight on assembling a strong squad in the summer window.

While a few players are expected to be signed, the club has decided to bring back on-loan attacker Bernard Tekpetey.

The attacker was loaned to Ludogorets Razgrad last summer on a two-year deal. After just a season in Bulgaria where the Ghanaian displayed outstanding form, he is now set for an early return to Germany.

Schalke hopes to count on his experience in the Bundesliga 2 in a campaign they will be eager to enjoy success to gain promotion back to the Bundesliga.

Bernard Tekpetey, 23, in the 2020/2021 football season, made 21 appearances for Ludogorets where he scored once and provided as many as eight assists.
