GHPL: Inter Allies FC share points with Ashgold SC after 1-1 stalemate

Inter Allies FC on Friday afternoon picked a crucial point in the Ghana Premier League when the team drew 1-1 against Ashanti Gold SC at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Capelli Boys today hosted the Miners in a matchday 17 fixture of the ongoing 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league season hoping to get a win to help them climb out of the relegation zone.

In the first half of no goal against a well-oiled Ashanti Gold SC side, Inter Allies FC was the second-best side but still managed to cause trouble on multiple occasions.

After recess, the home team kept pushing and finally had the breakthrough in the 62nd minute courtesy of a strike from poster boy Richard Lamptey.

Although it looked like the team could hold on to the finish line, the resilience and quality of Ashanti Gold SC meant that they escape defeat.

Boadu Dacosta scored in the 76th minute to draw level for the visitors as the game ended 1-1 at the end of the 90 minutes to give both teams a point each to take home.

While Inter Allies staying bottom of the Ghana Premier League table with 12 points after today’s result, Ashanti Gold SC is also stuck in the 11th position with 22 points.
