GFA Technical Director demands for strong attention for grassroots football

Bernhard Lippert

Technical Director for the Ghana Football Association, Bernhard Lippert has reiterated the need why much attention must be channelled to school sports as Ghana seeks to rebuild its football.

The German tactician has been in charge of affairs for a couple of weeks and has outlined his vision to give Ghanaian football an identity.

He says the key to achieving this is to create a structure that properly identifies these talents and puts them in the right environment to develop.

“There are a lot of parts which have to be developed and it starts with the schools and grassroots.

“Grassroot football and football in schools must be better developed.

“Then we must find a system to identify talent early especially those between the ages of 10 – 14.

“We must define the most talented players within this age bracket and train them,” he added.
