Black Stars great, Anthony Yeboah, popularly known as Tony Yeboah says he prays the new Ghana Football Association (GFA) takes football to where it needs to get to during their reign.

After more than a decade under former FA boss Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi, the country’s football governing body now has new leaders elected at Congress in October 2019.

Eight months in office, there are divided opinions on how the new Ghana FA administration has fared. While some give the Kurt Okraku-led administration commendation, others blast them for failing to change a single thing since taking over.

Speaking to Asempa FM on Friday morning, Ghana football legend Tony Yeboah has noted that the country will need between 5 to 10 years to revive the sports.

According to him, however, it is his desire to see the current administration transform football during the time they will stay in office.

“I pray this new administration takes Ghana football to where it needs to be. We need about 5-10 years to revive Ghana football”, the former Leeds United striker said.

He further indicated that football needs to be branded well to attract sponsors.

“We need to brand Ghana football properly if we want sponsors to come on board”, Tony Yeboah concluded.
