GFA Must Push For The Return Of Football - Abednego Tetteh

Ghana FA Executive Council

Striker Abednego Tetteh has implored the Ghana Football Association [GFA] to push for the resumption of football.

Domestic football in the West African country came to a standstill in mid-March following the outbreak of coronavirus.

However, after a marathon meeting, the Executive Council confirmed the annulment of the 2019/20 football season on June 30.

The 2020/21 football season is set to return on October 30 with preventive measures but the former Bechem United forward wants the country's football governing body to insist on the return on football.

"South Africa's cases are more than Ghana. If I watch them and Tanzania playing football I became so sad," he told Kumasi based Hello FM.

"The FA should push hard for the resumption of football. We have missed the game.

"We thought the break was going to be short. I'm surprised we have sat home for about eight months without playing football, this is unforgettable" he added.

Ghana has recorded over 40,000 cases of the coronavirus pandemic.
