Nana Yaw Amponsah To Advice Kotoko Board On Africa Participation Next Week

Newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah will next week advise the board of the club on the team's participation in Africa next season.

This has been revealed by a member of the 12-member board of directors, Alhaji Abu Lamin in an interview with Accra-based Atinka FM.

“Nana Yaw will start work on Monday at the club secretariat to assess things and advice the board on Africa.

“He has not met with the technical team yet, and he needs to know the kind of players we have if they are quality enough, the club financial status before any decision”, Alhaji Abu Lamin said.

Asante Kotoko and Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC have been selected by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to represent the country in the next editions of the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.

The exploits of the Porcupine Warriors club in the CAF inter-club competition in the last decade have not been impressive.

However, with a new board and a new CEO in place, the club is hoping to change the narrative in subsequent participation.
