Premier League to be launched today

The Ghana Football Association and its league sponsors, cellular service providers, Onetouch Ghana will launch the 2006 premier league in Accra today.

Ahead of the launch, the Professional League Board, the organizers of the premier league held a meeting with the referees association yesterday to sort out officiating bonuses and the other financial packages for the match officials.

The PLB and the referees have agreed to pay FIFA referees 1.030 million cedis to cover their traveling and hotel costs with class one referees receiving just over 900,000 cedis to cover the same costs.

The amount is independent of their officiating allowances.
