Include Kwasi Appiah On New Kotoko Board - Odartey Lamptey Implores Otumfuo

Nii Odartey Lamptey has implored Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the life patron of Asante Kotoko to add Kwasi Appiah to the new Board of Directors of the club.

The seat of the Asante Kingdom has constituted a new nine-member board to run the club.

Dr Kwame Kyei, who is the Executive Chairman of the club is Chairman of th Board.

The new Board has been tasked to rebuild the Kotoko brand not only for its performance on the sporting field but as a viable economic entity.

It is expected that the Board will be given a three-year mandate with inauguration expected to take place today.

However, the former Ghana striker says Kwasi Appiah, who is a former skipper for the club must be given the opportunity to serve on the new Board.

"I will plead with Otumfuo to add an ex footballer like Coach Kwasi Appiah to Kotoko Board Members,’’ the former Anderlecht star told Ocean 1 TV.

"The reason why I mention Kwasi Appiah is that the system we are in now he has seen it for the past ten to fifteen years,” Odartey added.

Other members on the board include Jude Arthur (Board Chairman for Ghana Commercial Bank), Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi (Board Chairman Ghana EXIM Bank), Kwasi Osei Ofori (Chairman Erdmark Group/ CEO Rocksure Mining Ltd), Lawyer Kwamina Mensah (Corporate Lawyer), Alhaji Lamine (Businessman), Joseph Yaw Adu (Retired Director of Sports at Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology), Baffour Kwame Kusi (Otumfuo’s Ankobeahene) and Evelyn Nsiah Asare (Acting Head of Sports at Sunyani Technical University).
