Alhaji Grusah Implores Gov't To Annul 2019/20 GPL Season

King Faisal owner and bankroller, Alhaji Karim Grusah has called on government to nullify the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.

Football in the country has come to a halt since March 15 following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

Calls have been made to call off the season due to the uncertainty on the resumption of football.

The veteran football administrator has however called on government to step in and decline any proposal to resume playing football until everything is back to normal.

“In the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak in Ghana, I advised the GFA to stop the league. Some of the journalists said I was saying so because I was bottom of the league table," he said in an interview.

“Now these same Ghanaians who lack foresight are saying Germany has resumed their league so we should follow suit, do you know the conditions given to the Germans. Can Ghana replicate same," he quizzed.

“I am advising government to not allow the resumption of playing football in Ghana until this COVID-19 is over.

France have stopped their league, Holland have Belgium have, likewise Burkina Faso.

"What are Ghanaians saying, who are you and what at all do you want to prove in this world,” he concluded.
