NPP Always Insist On New Voter's Register--John Boadu

The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) General Secretary, John Boadu has said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are not hypocrites like NDC thus they have always called for a new voter's register even in opposition.

According to him, his outfit has always justified reasons why a new voters register must be compiled, unlike the NDC who have always engineered in propaganda in justifying the reasons to maintain the old register.

Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Anopa Nkomo on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7, John Boadu said, he urged Ghanaians to rally behind the EC who are campaigning for the change of register and see the call as being in the interest of the entire nation.

John Boadu further noted that the party had no hidden agenda in its call and would never give in until the proper thing was done in the interest of the nation.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has said that it will complete registration for the new electoral register by May this year for the 2020 parliamentary and presidential election.

According to the commission, the need for the new voters’ register was necessitated by several factors which included the need to replace the outmoded biometric machines.
