Akufo-Addo Denied Me The Special Prosecutor Post Because Of Asamoah Gyan – Maurice Ampaw [Video]

Renowned Ghanaian private legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw says President Akufo-Addo did not appoint him as Special Prosecutor because of his incessant attack on Ghana’s football striker Asamoah Gyan.

Speaking in an interview with this reporter, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw stated that he was not having issues with Asamoah Gyan until the unfortunate disappearance of popular hiplife artiste Castro.

According to him, the media called him for his views on the incident and he stated that those who took Castro to the venue where he disappeared should be invited for questioning.

He indicated that the media twisted his statement which created enmity between him and Asamoah Gyan.

Lawyer Ampaw noted that despite the numerous explanation, Asamoah Gyan and his family were still not happy with his 'twisted' statement.

He added that after a few months one lady called Sarah Kwabla also alleged that he was raped by Asamoah Gyan and upon seeing the evidence he (Lawyer Ampaw) decided to back the lady in court.

According to him, all these happenings created hatred for him knowing that Asamoh Gyan sponsored Akufo- Addo's campaign and the fact that he is very close to President Akufo-Addo.

"As it stands I wasn’t considered for the special prosecutor position because of Asamoh Gyan, though I wasn’t expecting that position, my name came up because Ghanaians know I’m a no nonsense man and I can best do the work because am neutral”, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw stated.

He said Asamoah Gyan’s mates and close associates whom he knows have been appointed into the Akufo- Addo government.
