Belinda Babila Foundation Launched In Ghana

The Belinda Babila Foundation, a Non-Profit Organization has been officially launched in Ghana.

The Christian registered Foundation which is headquartered in Dallas, United States held the ceremony to officially launch the BBF Ghana Refugees Support Programme on December 20, 2019 at its office located at Mallam – Gbawe, Accra.

The Director – General of State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng who was the Chairman of the occasion and had also been a refugee at a point in his life empathise with the Cameroonian refugees in Ghana.

He urges the people of Ghana to warmly receive them in love and unity as Ghanaians are already known for their hospitable nature.

He added that the Cameroonian refugees should make it a point to live together in unity among themselves devoid of anything that goes against the laws of Ghana by maintaining and promoting the peaceful atmosphere in Ghana.

He concluded by assuring them that the government of Ghana will do all it can to give them the necessary support when the need arises.

Mr Asamoah Boateng appealed to the various businesses out there to also assist the refugees offer jobs to qualified ones to get them active at all times.

Dr. Belinda Babila, Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) of BBF noted that “…we decided to come to Ghana to celebrate with you, empathize with you and to encourage you and let you know that BBF has a support centre for you all. This home is open to Cameroonian refugees, refugees at large and vulnerable people.”

The country Coordinator of BBF Ghana, Ekili Clarence said, “We pray that mother Ghana that received us will acknowledge us as humans and give us all the opportunities that we deserve for us to live like human beings in this great nation – the nation that believes that everyone is equal and everyone deserves love.”

The BBF which has been managing the Cameroonian refugees in Nigeria who were displaced as a result of the crisis also known as the Ambazonia War which occurred in the Southern Anglophone region in Cameroon has its main aim of establishing in Ghana to work towards the management of the Cameroonian refugees in Ghana properly and to keep them off the street.

The BBF has its goal of saving lives, relieve suffering, enhance quality of life, maintain human dignity and also advocates for social justice and human welfare.
