Akufo-Addo Is Putting Money In People’s Pockets – Majority Leader

The Majority Leader of Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu says the Akufo- Addo led administration is putting money in people’s pockets, insisting that the President was doing this through several social intervention programs and skills development initiatives.

According to him, these programs have provided economic empowerment to beneficiaries

"If we take the various social intervention and welfare packages provided by government we can determine the amount of money that government has saved the people of Ghana from paying," Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu told Kwame Tutu on Anopa Nkomo on Accra based Kingdom FM 107.7.

These interventions, he noted have led to parents as well as the public keeping such monies they would have spent on relatives or wards in their pockets.

The Minister noted that President Nana Addo is putting money into people’s pocket through programs which are enabling Ghanaians to generate income and making people more economically productive and self-dependent.

“Take the various social interventions and welfare packages provided by the government we can determine the amount of money that the government has saved the people of Ghana."

These are monies that the individual can use for something different from his or her choice.” he disclosed

Hon. Mensah-Bonsu also urged Ghanaians to stay behind the NPP government and it will deliver all his promises especially one district one factory.

He noted government’s decision to pay for the cost of flagship programs such as fertilizer subsidy, planting for food and jobs, subsidy for BECE candidates, free SHS, school feeding program nursing and teacher trainee allowances amongst others has indirectly saved the Ghanaian people from paying for these in excess GHC 2billion cedis.
