US$40m To Facelift Paga Crocodile Pond, Others

The Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture and the World Bank as part of efforts to develop the Tourism sector under the World Bank Tourism Development Project (TDP) has earmarked $40 million dollars over a 5 year period to develop some selected existing and discovered tourist sites in Ghana.

The Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) as an Implementing Agency (IA) in its quest to upgrade and develop selected tourist sites in Ghana identified the Paga Zenga Crocodile Pond as one of the existing tourist sites amongst others to receive facelift to improve upon tourist experience, safety for visitors and life under water and boost economic growth.

The CEO of GTDC, Mr. Kwadwo Odame Antwi led a delegation of technical experts to undertake a working visit to the Paga Zenga Crocodile Pond.

The Team paid homage to the Paga Pio and other key stakeholders of the community and assure them of the upgrade of the Paga Zenga Crocodile Pond into a world standard site with modern receptive facility.

The team visited the DCE of Kasena Nankana District Assembly, Mr. Gerard Ataogye who welcomed the news with excitement and assured the Team of the Assembly’s readiness to support the project.

Mr. Odame Antwi reiterated GTDC’s full commitment to upgrade Paga and other similar sites within the Region to attract more domestic and international tourists.
