Obuasi East District Gets Its Fair Share Of Massive Infrastructural Development

The District Chief Executive of Obuasi East District Assembly Hon. Faustina Amissah and MP of the area Dr. Patrick Boakye-Yiadom on Thursday, 9th May, 2019 cut sod for commencement of numerous projects including 6 mechanized boreholes with water stands and a 1 unit classroom block in some 9 Communities including Anyimadukrom, Domeabra, Asonkore, Jimiso, Kwabenakwa, Kokoase, Mampamhwe, Diawuoso and Pomposo all within the District.

At a Community Durbur organized in Anyimadukrom which brought together Chiefs and Elders as well as Assembly members of the above communities , Departmental Heads, Teachers and students, Media and Community members, plans on how to ensure massive improvement in areas such as Education, health, Sanitation and Employment were adopted to boost living standards of the citizens.

Addressing the large audience, Hon. Faustina Amissah, DCE of the Obuasi East District said the current fall in prices of food stuff are the positive outcomes of the Government Planting for Food and Jobs initiative and also touched on Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) which 11,500 oil palm seedlings are ready for distribution among interested farmers free of charges.

She indicated that the relentless efforts by herself and the MCE of Obuasi Municipal Hon. Elijah Adansi-Bonah through their Members of Parliament have led to the rehabilitation of the Obuasi - Anwiakwanta road into a modern asphalt and revealed that plans are underway to extend it to the Obuasi Township roads.

Mrs Amissah stated that the District has just been enrolled unto the Disability Fund and all necessary processes are in place for beneficiaries to apply and receive their shares to improve living conditions of the physically challenged in Obuasi East.

Dr. Patrick Boakye-Yiadom, Member of Parliament of the Constituency said the District has embarked on several projects with some nearing completion while others have just begun. Among them are Health Insurance Office at Boete, ultramodern clinic with staff bungalow at Odumasi, Classroom blocks, Sports centres, Market centers and many more.

Hon. Boakye-Yiadom later took the Media through a community tour to showcase many of these projects the District has witnessed upon his election in 2016 and to create awareness on how the local Assembly system seeks to bring development to the doorsteps of voters .

The Coordinating director of Obuasi East District Assembly , Mr. Emmanuel Ntoso assured the gathering of the Assembly's commitment to work hand in hand with all stakeholders to render good services to the people in order to ensure massive development in the district. He then praised Nananom and Community members for honoring the invitation.
