CID’s Invitation Well Planned From Jubilee House To Harass, Intimidate And Humiliate Ofosu Ampofo —UK & Ireland NDC

Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) chapter in the United Kingdom and Ireland back the leadership decision not to allow the National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo honor the invitation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

A statement signed and issued on Friday by the Chairman of the Chapter, Alhaji Alhassan Mbalba described the CID’s invitation as well planned, coordinated and executed from the Jubilee House to harass, humiliate, and intimidate their National Chairman.

“Clearly, this is one of NPP’s grand strategies to rig the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections. We are minded that it is a civil responsibility for the citizenry to assist the police and other security agencies in criminal investigations, but Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo is not obliged by any law to assist the police, especially if the CID’s invitation has a semblance of the oppression of political opponents, and scapegoating,” they added.

They, however, urged all NDC members to go out in numbers to defend, protect and safeguard Mr. Ampofo should the police try to arrest him.

This follows after Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service invited NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo for questioning in connection to the recent kidnappings and market fires.
