Oaa 1973 Year Group Celebrates 50th Nino Anniversary

Old Achimotan Association

Akoras of the 1973 year group came back to school on Sunday 14th October, 2018 to worship and give thanks to God for fifty years since 13th September, 1968 when they were admitted to form one (as ninos).

Coincidentally, it was the day scheduled to welcome first year students on the green track to Achimota School and to induct new prefects for the 2018/19 school year, so it was a good blend. The Service was held in the new 3000-seater Assembly Hall.

Each member of the OAA ‘73 year group was introduced to the students stating their current occupations, the positions they held as prefects and their houses. This generated a lot of excitement amongst the students.

After a short address by Akora Prof Aryeetey a presentation was made by Akora Lydia Boakye (GSP 1975) on behalf of the year group.

After the church service, the Akoras met the students one on one and in small groups for mentoring and to find out how they were faring generally. A lot of contact information changed hands!

The Akoras then proceeded to the Staff Club for socialization and refreshments.
