James Oppong-Boanuh Becomes Deputy IGP

The Ghana Police Service on Tuesday September 25, reassigned some of its senior personnel in the service with Commissioner of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh, appointed as the new Deputy Inspector- General of Police.

The position of deputy IGP had been vacant for years since the last Deputy IGP, Mohammed Alhassan.

In all, a total of 14 reassignments were made according to a statement signed by the Director-General of police Public Affairs, David Eklu.

Commissioner of Police Nathan Kofi Boakye, who was Director General of Police in charge of Police Professional Standard Bureau [PSB], has been moved to replace COP Dr. George Dampare as Director General in charge of research and planning.

COP Dr. George Dampare has been moved subsequently to the position of Director General of police in charge of welfare.

COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, who is the Director General of Police Intelligence has been moved to the position of Director General of police in charge of Motor traffic and transport department.

COP Prosper Agblor, who was the Director General in charge of welfare has been also been appointed as the Director General in charge of Legal and prosecutions.
