Burial Service Held For Dansoman Fire Victims

A joint Burial service has been organized at the Methodist University College for the five family members who died in a fire outbreak at Dansoman.

The tragedy struck at Akoko Foto, Dansoman in Accra, where Linda Kessie, aged 31, Jason Kessie, a three-week-old baby, and Jaden Kessie, aged four; Madam Grace Ampah, aged 65, mother-in-law of the pastor and Precious Pokuah, the nine-year-old niece of the pastor, died in the fire.

Present at the service were family members, sympathizers including politicians such as the Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Mohammed Adjei Sowah, and his predecessor Alfred Oko Vanderpuiye.

They will be buried on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at the Gbawe Cemetery in Accra.

A number of groups associated with the deceased expressed their profound memories of the deceased following the tragedy.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is investigating the fire outbreak and is yet to establish the cause of the fire.

Speaking to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, James Kwarteng, denied claims that his outfit didn't arrive at the scene on time.

“We are still investigating, we don't want to take a guess, we just want to be sure of what we are looking for, so I will just say that we should be patient and let's complete the investigation,” he said.
