Prempeh To Face Accra Academy, Islamic SHS In Quarter Finals Of NSMQ 2018

Prempeh College will compete with Accra Academy and Islamic SHS in the last contest of the quarter-final stage of the ongoing National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) competition at the University of Ghana.

Four-time champions, Prempeh College, secured a quarter-final slot by winning massively against St. Francis Xavier Seminary School and Saviour SHS.

Prempeh College won with 62 points while St Francis Xavier Seminary School and Saviour SHS had 29 and 17 points respectively.

The Kumasi-based school has the opportunity to equal the record of Presbyterian Boys SHS (PRESEC) as the school with the highest number of NSMQ wins.

PRESEC has five wins, but missed out to make it six in 2017, when they failed to get to the grand finale.

The students who are contesting for Prempeh College have expressed their confidence in winning this year's competition to break PRESEC's record.

They also expressed satisfaction in their one-eighth contest, and are confident of performing better in subsequent contests.

Islamic SHS secured a slot to the quarter-final contest by winning their one-eighth contest with 26 points against Aduman SHS and St. Mary’s Boys SHS, who had 6 and 20 points respectively.

Accra Academy on the other hand, won their contest with 37 points against St Hubert Minor seminary and Awudome SHS who had 17 points and 27 points respectively.
