Freddie Blay Predicts NPP Victory If Mahama Contests In 2020

The acting National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Frederick Worsemao Armah Blay, popularly called Freddie Blay says he foresees an easy victory for his party if Former President, His Exellency John Dramani Mahama leads the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as their flag bearer in the 2020 general elections.

So far former President Mahama remains the favorite to lead the NDC in 2020 with close competition from Professor Joshua Alabi and Sylvester Mensah.

The NPP snatched the presidential seat from the NDC in 2016 after being in opposition for eight years. It was under the chairmanship of Freddie Bay that the NPP came to power. Very soon the party in Government will go to the polls to elect new set of party leaders. Freddie Blay last week Thursday picked up his form to contest for the position he already occupies at the party headquarters at Assylum down.

Speaking on the “Ekosii Sen” program on Asempa FM last Friday, the Honorable chairman disclose that he foresees an easy victory for the ruling party if Mahama leads the NDC to battle come 2020.

He also revealed that it is ridiculous to hear some Ghanaians tag the former President as “Honest Mahama” when Mahama whiles if power could not provide employment for unemployed Nurses even though he promise them employment.

Ahead of the NPP national elections, Freddie Blay also emphasized that if he is retained as the Party Chairman, his work will be a lot easier when Mahama is chosen as the Flag bearer for the main opposition the NDC.

Still on Mahama, Freddie Blay debunked claims that at the mention of the name Mahama, the NPP trembles. When asked if that assertion is true, he responded it is never true and he does not even pay attention to the things the former President says.
