CDS Happy With The Turnout Of Visitors During Military Open Day

The Army Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Obed Boamah Akwa has expressed delight at the turnout of civilian visitors to the various armed forces garrisons in Accra where military wares were on display.

The CDS was speaking during the Ghana Armed Forces Open Day organised at the various military garrisons in Burma-Camp Accra to enable civilians to tour its facilities and infrastructure as part of efforts to improve civilian-military relations in the country..

His first visit was at the Ghana Air force base station at Burma-Camp.

The CDS was received by Air Commodore Fred Bekoe and the Director for Administration at the Airforce Headquarters Accra, Group Captain Nii Okai.

The CDS was conducted around the Air force to see what was on display.Also present was the Director of Ghana Armed Forces Public Relations, Colonel Aggrey-Quarshie

School children who visited the base had the opportunity to fly on onboard a CASA 259 Aircraft.

Some school pupils appealed to Government to supply the Air force with sufficient aviation fuel during the armed forces open day to enable more of their colleagues, who travel from the various villages and towns to Accra to also have a feel of being on board a plane and expressed appreciation to the Armed Forces for the gesture.
