21 Gun Salute For NDC Babies With Sharp Teeth In Parliament

Efo Worlanyo TSEKPO

The members of Parliament of the seventh Parliament of the 4th Republic have proven to be above excellence.

Most at times it takes time for new entrance in Parliament to get rooted and adjusted to the Parliamentary debate and other proceedings but our *"babies with sharp teeth"* in Parliament have demonstrated that they are in hurry to bring our party back to power in 2020.

Parliaments before this seventh Parliament have been an institution where it's only the known faces who continually make waves and it takes time for new entrants to get adjusted.

I remember the first time Hon. Okujeto Ablakwa one of the "sharp teeth babies" tried to make a case on the floor, he was shot down completely and was called a propagandist.

I remember one of the Npp MPs said Parliament is not radio gold where Okujeto could be making his "noise".

But thank God he and others did not give up but continued to push harder till the world finally got to hear of them. Thank God they are now in the arena.

This particular Parliament has been very interesting with the new entrance mixed with the senior honourables from our side.

Strategically, the leadership has position the members in areas they have upper hands and that is making them make waves as well as making us proud as a party.

Anytime we listen to our MPs we at the grassroot feel proud to be members of the umbrella family.

NDC MPs have demonstrated that they are really *"the men and women in the arena"*.

They are making their hands "dirty" to position the party well for a victorious 2020.

It is only with this Parliament that when the sharp teeth babies are debating issues you see the majority side sitting down calmly and quietly, taking notes as if they are in lecture hall because it has always been a scene of facts and figures presentation.

*But most at times these MPs who give up their best to defend the party in opposition are ignored when the party win power.*

This doesn't happen in NDC alone as a party but has also taken root in the Npp.

Dr Anthony Osei Akoto Mp for Tafo was one of the economic pillars of the Npp when they were in opposition. Anytime this man rises to speak on the floor my heart trembles. He speaks with confidence backed with figures which sometimes are in doubt by the then majority.

Even when the late Hon.Baah Wiredu passed on and he took over as the Finance minister he was really very vocal and strategic in the finance ministry as the acting Minister of Finance.

He really gave out his best for his party while in opposition.

But when Npp won, he was pushed aside until some chiefs rose from Ashanti Region before they created and customised the monitoring ministry for him.

This is a ministry the man himself said he doesn't know his functions because the small ministerial assessments he was suppose to do the president himself has again personally taken over that job.

*One could clearly notice that the man Dr Anthony Akoto Osei is not a happy man.*

My prayer is that all those who have folded their sleeves and making their hands "dirty" in Parliament as well as our hardworking communicators and party faithfuls wouldn't be forgotten after the swearing in of the NDC come 2021 January 7th.

We shall all do our part in our small conner for a victorious 2020.

*Once again 21 gun salute for our honourables members of Parliament for a year of supersonic speed of facts and figures.*

2020 is possible, but it's just a matter of time.
