Very Rev. George K. Fuachie Awarded For Changing Lives

The Methodist Church Ghana as Christian organization is not into only preaching the gospel, but to help the masses to fight against poverty and solve unemployment rate in the various societies and Ghana as a whole.

The directorate in charge of Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development has organized one week training in snail, rabbit, grasscutter rearing, bee keeping and mushroom farming for the Obuasi Diocese. The training saw almost 200 participants in the various centers and the response from the trainees was encouraging. Speaking to some of the trainees, they said the never knew there was a way to reduce poverty in their area.

They said, they only knew the normal farming which has been their source of wealth and normally complain about marketing their farm produce, but after the training they have realized what they learnt have ready market.

The Director of Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Nii Addo Bruce who led the training advised the trainees to take whatever they have learnt serious. He said, whatever they have been thought have good market and if they will put much attention into it they will get much money to cater for their families.

He then gave advise to the people in the Manso area in the Amansie West District, to put all their strength into this modules than to rely on the galamsey which is life threatened.

The Directorate on behalf of the Methodist Church Ghana presented an award to the Very Rev George K. Fuachie, currently the Superintendent Minister, Manso Atwere Circuit in the Obuasi Diocese for his support in changing lives of church members and the communities he has worked.

Very Rev Fuachie is not into only preaching the gospel, but into agriculture and rural development. According to the director, the man of God have done his best for the church in terms of giving agric training to the stations he has worked. Recently, he helped the Obuasi diocese to reclaim its cocoa farm which was in the bush. Some communities have benefited from the good work of Very Rev Fuachie with the help of his foreign friends.

The directorate awarded him with a citation, a huge envelope and a flat screen television. Very Rev George Fuachie thanked the Church and the directorate for appreciating his good work and ask God to give him strength and wisdom to do more than what he have already done. He did not forget his foreign NGOs who have been supporting him.
