Over 400 Adenta Residents Offered Free NHIS Subscription

Over four hundred less privileged citizens of Adenta in the Greater Accra Region have been offered free National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) registration.

This would enable the beneficiaries to enjoy the various healthcare benefits under the national health insurance policy.

The exercise, which was carried out by officials of La Nkwatanang branch of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), was funded by an Accra-based non-governmental organization (NGO), The Michaels Family Initiative.

The beneficiaries included adults, children and the aged.

Speaking to the media, Mrs Mimi Andani Michaels, spokesperson for the Michaels Family Initiative, said the rationale for their action was to celebrate her husband's birthday by launching the Michaels Family Initiative.

The aim of this initiative is to provide health and education services for the poor and needy people in Ghana and beyond.

The NGO, which is dedicated to education and health, has also taken the opportunity to supervise some other projects underway in the district.

The Foundation has also refurbished the WASS Experimental JHS.

The major activities of TMFI includes provision of health care through hospitals and maternal and child health centers.

This great initiative is founded by Nana Michaels Dzikunu and Mimi Andani-Michaels.
