Amansie West District Sets Up Education Development Fund To Boost Educatin

The Amansie West District Assembly, in the Ashanti Region, has established the Amansie West District Endowment Fund, which is aimed at boosting development of education in the area.

District Chief Executive, William Bediako Asante, said the scheme will assist citizens who would want to further their education to the university and even beyond.

A committee set up to manage the Fund has prominent members such as Dr. Kofi Afoakwa, chairman; Dr Stephen Baffour Adjei of the University of Education, Kumasi campus; Mr Michael Ampong a media consultant; Nana Tabi Gyansah Manso Kwabenaso Dikro; Ms Harriet Asante Mensah PR Officer, NHIA Amansie West; Mr Akwasi Antwi Prempeh as secretary to the committee; Mr George Obeng Takyi University of Education Kumasi.

The rest are Ms. Dora Atigbire Director of Education, Mr. Owusu Dodoo a former Education Director Mr. Ken Kansigi District Finance Officer, and Mr. J T Ababio District Coordinating Director.

At a ceremony to unveil a final report on the Endowment Fund, the DCE on behalf of the Assembly thanked the committee members for their hard work and dedication.

Present at the event were chiefs, opinion leaders, heads of departments, Assembly Members other stakeholders.
