Zongo Minister Calls On Asantehene

Alhaji Abubakar Sidique Boniface,the minister for inner cities and Zongo development has paid a courtesy call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia palace as part of his 3 day tour of the Ashanti Region on Friday.

The Minister is in the region as part of his familiarization tour to seek grievances and ideas from Zongo leaders in various areas for the draft of the ministry's policies.

Eventhough the media was not allowed to cover the meeting between the Ashantehene and the supremo minister.

However, briefing the media at the palace after the meeting,Alhaji Boniface said it is necessary as custom demands to visit and notify him about his purpose in the region.

A close source from the Manhyia palace told journalists that, Otumfuo Osei Tutu Il was in high spirits with the minister as he begins the tour on his soil.

The Minister will visit areas such as Bekwai, Ejisu, Mampong, Obuase among others.
