Youth leader urges youth to be peace ambassadors

Bawku (U/E), April 29, GNA - The youth have been urged to be peace ambassadors wherever they find themselves to promote the nation's socio-economic development.

Alhaji Ali Salifu, Bisa Youth Leader of Mognori in the Bawku Municipality of the Upper East Region, said peace was an essential factor in the development agenda of any society.

He advised the youth to channel their youthful energy into productive ventures such as agriculture and entrepreneurship.

Alhaji Salifu made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Gombo, Bawku, on the sideline of his courtesy call on the Gombo Naba, Naba Alhaji Amadu Azonko I.

Other members of the delegation were Mahammadu Zangbedi representative of the Bisa Chief of Mognori and Alhaji Bukari Nongma, Mossi Chief of Mognori.

The delegation was received by the Elders of the Gombo Naba: Hamidu Ahat, Seidu Asam, Ali Baba Azonko and Zakari Osuman, Gombo Kusasi Youth Leader.

The visit was to afford Alhaji Salifu and Seiba Abela Seidu, the Mognori Mossi Youth Leader, to express their gratitude to the Gombo Naaba for installing them to their leadership positions.

Alhaji Salifu advised the youth to desist from certain social vices such as drug abuse and stealing.

He said the development of Gombo depended on the youth.

Elder Ahat, on behalf of Naaba Azonko I, charged the youth leaders to be role models for the rest of the youth.

He said what Gombo needed was peace and development.

Elder Osuman called for the creation of the Gombo Youth Council to bring all youth on board for the area's development.
