Kunsuhene donates education materials to schools

Nana Agyemang Badu Duah, Chief of Kunsu in the Ahafo Ano South District, has donated teaching and learning materials to schools in about 33 communities under his jurisdiction.

The items included books and boxes of chalk, worth about GH¢25,000, to help improve teaching and learning in the beneficiary schools.

The gesture forms part of activities lined up to observe his second anniversary of enstoolment.

The Chief, who indicated that improving the standard of education is his priority, explained at the presentation ceremony that the gesture is to complement the efforts of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at promoting education.

Nana Badu Duah pleaded with parents not to over rely on the proposed free Senior High School (SHS) policy of the government, and neglect their basic responsibility of providing the needs of their wards of school going age, but rather take keen interest in their studies.

According to him, a law would be instituted to ensure that no child of school going age is seen outside on the streets after 8 p.m., to encourage them to learn.
