THE BITTER EXPERIENCE OF REJECTION

'Lovers were once strangers'. This was exactly my response to her when she declined my proposal to date her on the view that "we barely knew each other".

To me, it is an attraction when a lady plays hard to get so I persisted in pursuing her until that day when she bluntly told me, " Paul! I don't do short guys" lol..that was really god-awful behavior but I consoled myself that I wasn't short but cute.

I regarded my interest in her as one of such unfulfilled dreams from a reverie; it is not bad to sleep and have a dream but it becomes a calamity and a hindrance to your landlord when you fail to wake up, especially, when you owe rent. So I woke up from that dream and moved on determined never to look her way ever again but not without changing her name to 'Societal Venom' on my contact.

Some years down, I got a message from Societal Venom with a simple question, "Paul, about your interest in me, can we talk about it now?"

The usual none mischief I, smiled, and said to her, 'oh my dear after treating me like a castaway monkey in the past, is this what your Prophet revealed to you at the 31st crossover service?' She was quiet so I proceeded. In a simple sentence, I told her, I have been taken, I am in love and I am being loved...

In her response to my statement, she indicated how unfairly I have treated her by not waiting on her..abufusem!
