The event is being sponsored by Ghana Home Loans with strategic support from the community partners of AIESEC and Young African Leadership network Ghana ( YALN).

The event will focus on the role Youth can play across the country in the attainment of the SDGs. The conversation of the day will be hinged on theme of “Good Job and economic growth—the role of youth in the coming yearsand will try to explore the subject of quality education as a key factor within the theme in view.

The Ghana Youth Action Panel will bring together over 200 young leaders from various youth organizations across Ghana to draw up actionable roadmaps that will ensure the youth of today take ownership of their future by making the SDGs and policies influencing the facets of the SDGs their responsibility. Furthermore, the Ghana Youth Action Panel aims to create space for more health and meaningful collaborations between various youth organization with regards to the SDGs in particular and the social and economic progress of Ghana as a whole.

The Ghana Youth Action Panel is one of the several events and activities under the Ghana YouthSpeak campaign, a campaign that aims to raise awareness and encourage youth participation in the attainment of the SDGs in Ghana and the world at large. On a global level, AIESEC and Yaln as the world’s largest youth-run organization, last year entered a pact with the United Nations in December 2015 to commit towards mobilizing young people around the world to take active role in the achievement of the SDGs. Surveys have been carried out to gain insight into youth opinion and aspirations, community projects have been created to tackle specific SDGs and several other events have been held as a space where young people from different race and background can have engaging conversation on how their future will be sustainable, resilient, inclusive and progressive.

The key question that will be answered with actionable perspectives is “How can young people be better engaged” and “what role can young people play.” During the Ghana Youth Action Panel, we seek to unlock the potentials of youth engagement, participation and collaboration in making the world a better place.
