Ketu North is ready for polls

Dzodze, Dec. 7, GNA - A total of 67,234 registered voters are expected to cast their ballots in the Ketu North Constituency in the Volta Region on Wednesday.

Mr Francis Avorgbedor, the Returning Officer of the Constituency said about 550 Presiding Officers and Polling Assistants have been engaged.

He said polling materials had been delivered to police stations in the Constituency to be conveyed to the polling stations.

The Returning Officer expressed optimism of event free polls, known as election hotspot in the Region.

Ketu North has 38 electoral areas with James Klutse Avedzi of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the incumbent Member of Parliament.

Mr Avedzi is facing stiff competition from three other candidates from the New Patriotic Party, the Progressive People's Party and the All People's Party.

GNA's coverage of the elections, dubbed: 'GNA Tracks Election 2016,' is being funded by the Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), the Nation's foremost indigenous oil marketing company and CIMG 2015 Petroleum Company of the year. It also had sponsorship from Life Petroleum.
