Police remand two suspects over murder of taxi driver

Police in Oda in the Eastern Region have remanded two suspects over the alleged murder of a cab driver, Eric Kofi Narty.

Joseph Arthur King,20, and Suleman Dauda,20, are believed to be accomplices to prime suspect Emmanuel Kweku Adjei, 22, who is currently on the run.

Police say they have launched a manhunt for Emmanuel who is suspectd to have caused the death of the taxi driver.

Police say on Wednesday July 27, at about 8:00 pm they received information that a taxi driver has been killed at a house at Akyem Oda Quarters, a residential area.

They proceeded to the scene and found the 42-year-old driver lying on his back, close to his taxi car, a Kia Piccanto with registration Number GW 9380-16.

He was rushed to the Oda Government Hospital where he was pronounced dead by medical doctors, police tell Joy News.

Police say their investigation has revealed that the three young men, Emmanuel, Sulemana and Joseph hired the taxi cab to a house at Akim Oda.

On reaching the house, one of them struck him with a stick. Reasons for the attack are not clear.

Youth in the town on have been demanding justice for the murdered of the cab driver.
